Hunting Kentucky

We went hunting in Kentucky this last week. It was Tara's first time hunting for deer. She was able to get her hunter's safety completed a week before we went. Tara was seeing bucks right from the first morning. She passed on several small bucks until she saw this one and shot it with a 243.
I saw a lot of deet also. I did miss a big buck but was able to shot a descent buck with my 44 mag at about 50 yards. The bullet passed through the chest cavity and the buck fell right over.
Taryn and Darek had a lot of fun running around. They did go sit with Tara and myself one afternoon and we did see a buck. They both wanted me to shoot it but it was a little small. Along with that buck they saw a few does and a coyote.
We were also able to see Taryn's and Darek's Great grandpa Harry.

I think this is a beautiful angel.

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge before Halloween. We had a great time. We spent 1 night but were able to play in the water park the day of arrival and departure.
We also had Halloween. We went trunk or treating at the church on the 27th, trick or treating at the Great Wolf Lodge and then trick or treating at a nursing home and then in the neighborhood on Halloween. Needless to say Tara and I are eating a lot of candy, saving the kids from becoming diabetics. Tara made the costumes and she loves every minute of it.

Update on the plants. The two avocados are growing well and the mango has bigger leaves then the trunk in long.

We went camping again, this time it was for Darek's third birthday. We had lots of fun. Taryn and Darek got new headlamps that they were excited to wear even if it was still light out. It was beautiful weather. We went swimming and fishing. We even got to try out our new camp stove that has a grill section. It worked great.
